Big and Girly

Well my saucy buddies, I have a big and beefy post for you today! I was looking through my finds the last couple of days and they all seemed very…girly. So I thought “Hey! Let’s get all those skirts and floofies and ruffles all together and make a big ol’ girly post!” So…here it is!

The pink strawberry ensemble is a subscribo gift from Dance Creations. There is a strawberry poofer inside and it’s so sweet! The second look includes the dress, jewelry, wings, everything! For freeeee! And the third look is so lacetastic I want to reach into the computer and grab it!!

Photoshop Blues

Sometimes Photoshop nearly puts me in tears.  Every time I think I have made a breakthrough and figured it out I fumble again.  So, pardon my mess, because what I really want to do is tell you about some cool new items.  

Alejandra Jumanya has reopened Wetherby’s, a darling dress shop with classic styles.  She has weekly freebies.  The silver dress shown can be found in the room with the stage.  Deco, one of my all time favorite shops has a 1 L sale TODAY ONLY on Black Pearl set.  This is normally a 250 L value and is transferable so it’s great for gifts!  The awesome shoes are new in the Lucky Chair at Baby Monkey. They are from the Ultimate line, prim footed shoes, with scripted skin tone, nail and toe ring options.  Group members also get a substantial discount on purchased pairs. The skin is a new cheapie (15L) at SkinSane, called Alone in Paris, and fits my mood as of late.  There is also a new dollarbie called Rainbow.  

:::LiNe::: has switched over to a subscriber and you can get this adorable outfit as a gift when you sign up.  The prim feet are called Daily Chain and are in the Midnight Mania at Baby Monkey.  They are also scripted for skin tone, nail and toe ring changes.  The skin I’m wearing is the latest Tuli group gift, so well shown by Ashia earlier in the week.  I’m off to mess around with PS some more!  Happy shopping!

Of course, I’ve played up the punk-rock look in this image!

I’ve moved my original shape from it’s old location, and placed it next to the door. It was getting pretty cramped in the corner!! Walk into the ‘Bar’ room, and turn a hard right. You’ll find my two shapes on the wall there.

I wore this shape in my previous post, in the yellow dress from A&K Designs. It works well with lots of different skins, tones, hair’s etc. It’s Mod/Copy/No transfer, so you can make her fatter, thinner, thicker, taller, shorter. Whatever. 😀

banana yellow makes me happy

In the middle of a week of total chaos (including a hospital visit yesterday), I’ve managed to pick up this cute Easter dress and shoes from A&K Designs.
It is called Happy Easter Sundress and it includes the amazing sculptie shoes!
You can pick up another freebie there called Hoppy Easter, and keep hunting, because A&K Designs are part of the Bunny Hop Hunt, which ends very soon!
I was tempted by the Midnight Mania, which was in lock down on my first visit, but I got my name on the board on my second visit! I know I’ll be taking time to head back down there to stalk the lucky chairs in store also.

Friends Don’t Let Friends Shoot In Low Res.

If you’re a fellow blogger, SL photography enthusiast, or you just like clicking buttons and having pictures of your avatar, this may be a familiar, fateful fable. Maybe it happened like this…

*cue Scooby Doo doodle-ooh doodle-ooh doodle-ooh sounds and the wavy yet groovy screen*

You found the outfit. You matched the clothes, the hair…and of course, the shooz. Don’t forget the accessories. You have your smexy self and/or photogenic friend poised and posed with you. The camera’s ready. You take your shots. Hell, if it was anything like you see on TV, you’d be bustin a move irl with an expensive camera and looking ridiculously cool while doing it. You check your pictures on the hard drive. They’re made of awesome. That’s a wrap.

And then…

*cue more Scooby Doo music*

You take a break. Maybe grab a beer, an Evian, a diet soda. Snag a munchie. You come back to your ‘puter and you click open Photoshop. You’re in the zone. You’re ready to rock with your awesome pictures. You open the first one, and…

*cue the movie “Psycho” and the REE REE REE! music!*

IT’S PIXEL MAYHEM! Pixels are hither and thither, and your masterpieces are reduced to original Nintendo Mario Bros. quality. You realize, all of the sudden…

You forgot to click “Ultra” in your Graphics Preferences before you took your pics.

*headdesks*

And then, if you’re really like me, you convince yourself that it would be madness to simply retake the shots. Oh no. You’re going to be the next “Photoshop Picasso” and “fight the man” and “fix” these pictures, dammit! You get back in the zone. You smooth every little pixely edge and liquify the Hades out of almost every body part. You lean back with triumph when you hit save and upload to Flickr. Then…you look at the clock. And you realize you could have retaken about 20 beautiful, “Ultra” graphics enabled shots in the amount of time it took you to fix just this one and it would have looked 10 times better than what you were able to produce.

Now, you may be wondering by now…Adaire, why the heck are you going on and on about this? You probably wasted even more time crying about your original Nintendo-quality shots instead of just retaking them.

Yep. I sure have.

But here you have it anyway, and no extra charge for the pixel tragedy when I say that Sn@tch has got an awesome freebie out this week. i’ve been listening nonstop to the likes of scott walker and the tindersticks all day so perhaps you can imagine where my mood is. got a luminously pretty smokey-eyed freckle-faced skin from the imagen lucky chair this evening, and threw on a favorite from the (still going through the 19th!) albero hunt to go with — cube sugar‘s billowy chiffon blouse; you can’t tell here but the back’s open enough for a glimpse of skin below the nape of the neck… demurely sexy as all hell. ❤
